Shockey Gone = Good For Eagles

ESPN reports that the New York Giants have traded away talented tight end Jeremy Shockey to the New Orleans Saints for two draft picks.  New Orleans has been pushing to acquire Shockey and now they have finally done it.  Shockey is a key component of the Giants offense, and Eli Manning will definitely miss the big target across the middle.

Even though Shockey was injured during the Giants Super Bowl run, he is still a top tight end.  He will greatly improve the Saints' passing attack.  Shockey, a four-time Pro Bowler, will join Marques Colston and Reggie Bush as Drew Brees' top targets.  This move will likely make the Saints the top team in the NFC South.

Let's talk about how this affects our beloved Eagles.  Shockey, always rained with boos from us Philly fans, always seemed to play well against the Eagles.  With him gone, the Eagles can focus more attention on Plaxico Burress and the rest of the Giants' receivers.
